The "War on Terror" Will Never End Because

Terrorism: The use of terrorizing methods; a method of resisting a government or of governing by deliberate acts of armed violence; the systematic use of violence as a means to intimidate or coerce societies or governments.

This requires two basic ingredients - people willing to commit these acts of violence, and money to buy the tools/equipment with which to perform these acts of violence.

There will always be willing people to commit these acts of terrorism. They operate on a different ideology which is basically Marxist/Socialist in nature. Violence is the "tool of trade" of the Marxist/Socialist. See it in its full glory during the World Trade Summits every year.

Because the Marxist/Socialist doctrine will always exist, people will always exist who are willing to commit terrorism.

This leaves the solution as one which should be aimed at depriving terrorists of funds. You won't stop people buying guns. That's impossible, and shouldn't even really be considered anyway because an armed population is a population which will be hard to "dominate."

What the funds mean to a terrorist group is: money for food to feed all the terrorists while they learn terrorist tricks; money for training camps; money for living and traveling expenses while the terrorists travel and set up home in their chosen base country; money for military weapons - rocket propelled grenades, shoulder launch grenades, explosives and explosive making equipment as well as explosive transportation, money for the families of terrorists who have blown themselves up, and so on. This all requires a LOT of money.

The media reports that the various governments around the world are cracking down on terrorist bank accounts and terrorist owned assets. (Be careful the laws which enable the government to freeze these suspected accounts cannot be applied to normal people. It is actually too late as a claim of "suspected terrorist" is all that's needed regardless of truth.)

Each report of a found and confiscated terrorist bank account, or closed down source of funds, brings cheers from the media and their readers. But there is a much darker side which is NOT being told. A side which makes the crack down on terrorist funding totally and utterly useless, not to mention a complete and utter waste of money and resources.

Terrorist Funding

The media reports will have us believe terrorist funding comes from...

*Charity. Bogus charities designed to collect money on behalf of, say children of Kenya (for example), only to really give it to terrorist groups. These are hard to spot and shut down because some of the collected money may in fact go towards what is claimed.

* Business. Businesses whose profits go into the coffers of the terrorists. One such example used was of a Honey Business. All profits of sales of honey went into the hands of the terrorists. Because these are run as real and legitimate businesses, they are hard to spot and shut down.

*Gifts. People gift money to the terrorists. As if you or I, or anyone you know, can somehow send these terrorists money.

*Drugs. The terrorists have created a world wide drug ring which raises cash quickly and easily.

*Governments of unfriendly countries. The idea is that these countries give the terrorists money.

Let me address the reality of these sources...

Charity: Making money is hard stuff. And charities have to file documentation to maintain their charity stance. Also, a lot of money raised by legitimate charities with vast resources, still goes to running costs and the like. To expect us to believe a small charity that does not have fund raising drives and which is not assisted by a plethora of volunteers, is able to raise enough funds to cover operating expenses and still throw off huge wads of money into the terrorist purse, is really stretching it.

Business: It is darn tough to survive in business. If the statistics are true, 9 out of 10 businesses fail within their first five years. And of those which remain, 9 out of 10 of those will fail in the next five. Meaning, out of every 100 business which start, only 2 will remain after ten years.

It can cost a LOT of money to start a business. And a profit may not be seen for a number of years after starting. And even then, the profits may be small. Then there is the element of tax reporting. All up, this seems like a very risky, costly, slow and unpredictable method of raising funds for a terrorist.

Gifts: If you were going to send $10 to a terrorist group, where would you send it? Let's face it... terrorists don't just post their banking details and/or mailing addresses for people to send them money. This source of funds is totally bogus.

Drugs: The idea is that terrorists grow the plants, harvest them, process them, pack them and sell them throughout the world. Raising extremely large amounts of money. Where are these drugs grown? Middle of the desert in Iraq, Iran, Syria, elsewhere? Where are the drug processing labs set up? And how close are these drug producing facilities to transport?

Semi-trailers or even flatbed trucks pulling up to small non-descript buildings in the middle of nowhere, attract the attention of satellites. And, the government has devoted a lot of resources to the drug trade. While this may be a source of funds, it is highly unlikely to be a real source of funds. The risks of exposure every time a drug shipment is caught is too much for the reward offered by the successful sale of drugs.

Think about it... they (the government) finds a drug shipment with a street value of one or two million dollars. But that's not what the dealer/distributor paid for the drugs. That's street value. And, it costs a LOT of money to buy military weapons and house, feed and train terrorists as well as "keep" them. More money than would be made by selling a few million dollar drug shipments.

Unfriendly governments: There is some partial truth here. There are some countries which allow money to flow through them into the hands of the terrorists. However, those countries do not actively fund the terrorists out of their own coffers.

The fact is, people in power crave power. When they have the power and own the country's wealth, they are not apt to just give it away to some dork who wants to blow themselves up. Realize, scum-bags don't like anyone. Don't trust anyone. And certainly are not in the habit of putting their hands into their own pockets to give it to someone - unless it directly and immediately benefits them financially and politically. As terrorism never immediately benefits any specific country financially and politically, it is unlikely any country actually funds the terrorists.

If all these reported funding sources are bogus and do not fund the terrorists as claimed, where does the terrorist's money come from? It comes from...

The United Nations

The European Union

The United States

Britain

Other Western Countries

YES, the same people devoting money and other resources to fight the war on terror are also funding the terrorists!

Here's is how it happens...

The US, Britain, and Other Western Countries, give money to the United Nations. The United Nations either directly or through the International Monetary Fund (IMF), gives money to certain countries. This money is then split up. With some of it going to the actual country's use and some going into the pockets of the terrorists.

For example: The IMF and the EU gives money to Palestine. Arafat - the leader of the Palestinians - exchanges the money into shekels at a questionable exchange rate. He then gives the terrorists the extra cash he just created, and they can exchange it back through a front business of some kind, or launder it in some other way - and there are many ways to launder money.

To the IMF, their millions appear to have all been spent as the Palestinian government said. But that was only on the surface.

Another example: Food and medicine given to Iraq - by way of the setup the UN had established - was sold off for money which was given to terrorists, or was given directly to terrorists so they could sell it to raise funds, or was distributed as a "racket" and funds were raised.

These "outside funds" never take money out of the leader's pocket while funding the terrorists to the tune of tens of millions of dollars a month! And thus the leader has distanced themselves from the terrorists, and still gets to keep their money and power.

Now here is the dilemma... the only way to stop the terrorists is to remove their funding. The only way to do that is to stop the IMF giving money to countries, to stop the UN from giving food and medicine to countries, and to stop other types of gift funding and food from the western countries. But this would result in hundreds and thousands and possibly millions of people perishing from hunger, thirst and the elements.

The governments know this. How can they not? They know, for instance, that Arafat control the Palestinian terrorist group called Hamas, and yet they, the UN and others, give millions and millions of dollars a month to the Palestinians.

Just like how the US gave hundreds of tons of food to the USSR while the USSR had nuclear rockets pointed at it. Just like the food and medicine given to North Korea - a known terrorist supporting country.

So why do they (the UN, EU, US, etc.) do it? Why do they give food, medicine and money to countries they know will let the resources flow through to terrorists?

Because to turn their backs on those countries would go against their reason for existing (as in the case of the UN) and would draw unfavorable ire from the rest of the world for their heartlessness and willingness to let millions of people die - as well as being accused of being directly responsible for those deaths.

Instead, they "dance with the devil" keeping their enemies close. And gain some leverage which can be applied when needed - such as when the coalition needed to use Pakistan airspace when going to Afghanistan. And, they feel, by doing it this way, while they might not ever be able to get rid of terrorism, they can get some measure of control on it - even if that control is miniscule.
