Night Light Synopsis

Park Gun-Woo (Jin Goo), the handsome and smart successor of the large corporation Moojin goes to Japan, in order to pursue his dreams of a musician. In Japan he meets Seo Yi-Kyung (Lee Yo-Won) and falls in love with her. But after his heart was broken, he returns to Korea and starts to work at Moojin. 12 years later, he meets Seo Yi-Kyung again, she is now a cold-blooded businesswoman with wealth and determination. Oh My Geum Bi (~ep10)

A catastrophic illness can break people apart or bring them closer together. Mo Geum Bi (Heo Jung Eun) is a spirited 8-year-old girl who suffers from Niemann-Pick Disease Type C (NPC), a rare genetic condition that makes her body unable to properly metabolize cholesterol and other lipids. The condition is often referred to as “childhood Alzheimer’s” because of the rapid mental and physical deterioration that accompanies it. Geum Bi’s father, Mo Hwi Chul (Oh Ji Ho), is a single father who works as a clumsy swindler while trying to take care of Geum Bi. Geum Bi’s stern mother, Jang Joo Young (Oh Yoon Ah), is estranged from Hwi Chul and disapproves of everything he does. Go Gang Hee (Park Jin Hee) is an arborist who likes to spend her time alone or on the search for stolen cultural artifacts. When Gang Hee meets Hwi Chul, she finds herself drawn into his life with Geum Bi. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (~ep10)

What else could there be to life than barbells and heavy weights? Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) is a weightlifting phenom who has only focused on barbells her entire life while growing up with her father, Kim Chang Gul (Ahn Gil Kang), is a former weightlifter. She attends Hanwool College of Physical Education, a university full of top-notch athletes who are driven to succeed in the hopes of representing their country in national and international competitions. She went to the same elementary school as Jung Joon Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) but reunites with him in college. He is now a competitive swimmer who is having trouble recovering from the trauma of being disqualified for a false start in his first international swim competition. Song Shi Ho (Kyung Soo Jin) is a fiercely competitive rhythmic gymnast who won a silver medal at the Asian Games when she was 18, but the pressures of her sport drive her to break up with Joon Hyung. Bok Joo’s tunnel-vision life starts to change when she falls in love with Joon Hyung’s older cousin, Jung Jae Yi (Lee Jae Yoon), a former athlete who became an obesity doctor after suffering a career-ending injury. Will Bok Joo learn that there is more to life than weightlifting? “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” is a 2016-2017 South Korean drama series directed by Oh Hyun Jong. The story is inspired by the life of weightlifter Jang Mi Ran, who won the gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics, the gold medal in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, and four world championships. How can a mermaid from the Joseon era survive in modern-day Seoul? Shim Chung (Jun Ji Hyun) is a mermaid who finds herself transplanted to modern times. She is “caught” by Heo Joon Jae (Lee Min Ho), a charming but cold con artist who is the doppelgänger for Kim Moon, the son of a nobleman she met during the Joseon Dynasty. But in the present time, Joon Jae works with Jo Nam Doo (Lee Hee Joon) and Tae Oh (Shin Won Ho) as part of a group of highly skilled scam artists. But Joon Jae’s friend, Cha Shi Ah (Shin Hye Sun), who works as a researcher at KAIST, may be Chung’s only hope for surviving in her strange new world. “The Legend of the Blue Sea” is a 2016-2017 South Korean drama series directed by Jin Hyuk. The story is inspired by a historical tale about a mermaid contained in a short story anthology known as “Eou Yadam” by Joseon-era scholar Yu Mong In. This drama marks the last acting role for superstar Lee Min Ho before he enters his mandatory two-year military service and the first acting role for Jun Ji Hyun after giving birth to her first child.
