The One Wrong
Idea & How It Effects Your Wealth
Humans
have a tendency to grasp hold of Wrong Ideas and to Latch onto them
and hold onto them for Grim Death. And even when the Right Idea appears
to bathe us in its warmth, like the Sun coming out from behind a cloud,
they Still refuse to embrace it. They refuse to question the Wrong
Idea and refuse to embrace the Right Idea.
And believe it or don't, I just gave a Wrong Idea in the paragraph
above. An Idea I guarantee you didn't see and glossed over without
a second thought.
Here, let me show you, highlighted...
"And even when the right idea appears to bathe us in its warmth, like
the Sun coming out from behind a cloud, they Still refuse to
embrace it."
What's wrong with that is, the Sun doesn't come out from behind anything.
It was there, all along. All that really happens is, a cloud temporarily
blocks Our view of it. And to say otherwise - even if we say we Know
what is Meant - is just plain Mental Laziness.
Yes, we inherit such Figures Of Speech. But that doesn't mean we should
blindly accept them and use them. Because they are wrong. Plain and
simple. And a bad habit formed in such matters transcends into other
areas. Such as wealth...
You've heard the saying, "it takes money to make money" right? And
maybe you've even expressed it. But, this is another Wrong Idea.
Consider a fantasy land where there is a Wondrous Benevolent Ruler.
We'll call him King Niceman. He has all the gold (money). The people
of his Kingdom have none.
Now let me Ask you, if the Plebs want money, what do they need to
do to get it?
Work for it? Steal it?
In a Socialist/Collectivist System they would form a Gang and call
themselves a Govt, make a rule Decreeing a portion of King Niceman's
Money was theirs, and Coerce him into handing it over with threat
of Punishment if he refuses.
In a Capitalist Free Market System they would Exchange Their Labor
for some of the money. They would do Work for King Niceman and King
Niceman would pay them for the work done.
Did it take Them having money to Make Money?
No!
It took Someone Else having money - and - for that person to Spend
it, before they could make money. So to make money it Actually takes,
someone else to have money and that person to spend it.
And so, to accept that "it takes money to make money" is actually
DisEmpowering because if you don't have money you'll think you're
screwed and have Buckley's Chance of making money.
BUT, if you accept the Right Idea, that "all money comes from other
people - and - to make money requires them to spend it" then you have
something to work with and are empowered to figure out ways to obtain
that money through a Value for Value exchange.
Famous Marketer Dan Kennedy - famous in the world of Marketing, that
is - has often said, "If you cannot make money without money you cannot
make money with money" as a refutation of those who come to him for
advice and cry poor-mouth. But his statement is a Fundamental Wrong
Idea. It sounds Close to what I am saying, but it's also DisEmpowering
because it doesn't reveal Where money comes from and how to actually
make it. It assumes money can be made without money, and that's just
not the case.
If King Niceman had no money, no amount of work from the Plebs would
change that. All that would happen is, King Niceman would have some
work done - painted abode, planted crops, whatever - and the Plebs
would still be penniless.
It Does take money... Someone Else's Money - and - their Spending
of it.
I would modify Kennedy's statement like so... if you cannot make money
without your own money you can't make money with your own money. There,
that is now a Right Idea.
The most fundamental thing we have to offer other people in exchange
for some of their money is our Labor - be it digging holes, operating
machinery or answering calls and typing letters (it's all Labor, just
in different forms and called Different things).
From there, we can take the money we have Earned and use it to save
some of our own labor. The home-based manufacturer can now buy in
ready-made parts which they will put together to create the item they
sell. Such as oil and lye for soap makers; small jars and lids for
cream, balm and ointment makers; lengths of material for clothing
makers; and so on and so forth. Exchanging some of our money to buy
things Created from the Efforts of other people. And around and around
it goes. All stemming from the right idea that...
All money comes from other people and for us to make money they must
be willing to spend it and to actually spend it. Click here to subscribe to my weblog!
